Discovering the green heart of Holland
As the third episode of the annual Global Biofuel Tour, this year we chose to explore the Green Heart of Holland on Monday 28th May 2018 (USA Memorial Day).
Global planned a route starting once again at 9:30 sharp from our office at the city centre of Rotterdam. From here we headed West towards the green rural landscape scattered with farms, windmills and aquatic scenery between the major rivers flowing across the Netherlands.
A lunch at HOF21 in Bergambacht was arranged for in the pleasant shade. It was a warm day around 27 degrees Celcius with only a windforce 2 from the East. Here we experienced what charity can do: the management and staff insisted that no tip would be paid. This money should go to the charity. On top of that they arranged some cycling pants for one rider not yet equipped with a padded one!
The tour was planned in cooperation with Tourclub Rijnmond and members of the Tourclub volunteered to be our road captains. This meant we were in good hands for a safe and fun day of cycling.
Together with all participants, Global donated €3500,- to the Ronald McDonald Huis Sophia Rotterdam.

Following the huge success of last year’s Global Biofuel Tour in the Port of Rotterdam, this year we choose to explore the green Dutch landscape on Monday 29th May 2017 (USA Memorial Day)..
Global has planned a route starting once again at 9:30 sharp from our office at the city centre of Rotterdam. From here we will head South towards the green rural landscape scattered with farms, windmills and aquatic scenery.
Our end destination will be Willemstad where we will join for an informal food and drinks celebration in the late afternoon. Willemstad is a tiny beautiful well-conserved historical city founded in 1583.
Lunch along the route has been arranged for.
After dinner you can use a taxi bus to return to Rotterdam city centre to come back to your car or hotel. This bus will also be able to take back your bike.
The tour has been planned in cooperation with volunteers of Tourclub Rijnmond.
Members of the Tourclub volunteered once again to be our road captains, so we are in good hands for a safe and fun day of cycling.
Global will donate EUR 100.- per client starting in the Tour, to the Ronald McDonald Huis Sophia Rotterdam.
